McLardy McShane Partners Pty Ltd is responsible for the content and distribution of this FSG. Lack of Independence
McLardy McShane Partners and its Authorised Representatives are not independent, impartial, or unbiased pursuant to section 923A of the Corporations Act because:
- We may receive remuneration, commission, and/or other benefits when we provide personal advice to you in relation to insurance products and other financial products.
- We may also be subject to direct or indirect restrictions relating to the financial products in respect of which personal advice is provided.
- We may have associations or relationships with issuers of insurance products and other financial products.

Purpose of this FSG
This FSG sets out the services that we can offer you. It is designed to assist you in deciding whether to use any of those services and contains important information about:
- the services we offer you
- how we and others are paid
- any potential conflict of interest we may have
- our internal and external dispute resolution procedures and how you can access them
- arrangements that are in place to compensate clients for losses.
Further information when personal advice is given
We will provide you with further information whenever we provide you with advice, which considers your objectives, financial situation and needs. This may include advice, the basis of advice and information on our remuneration and relevant associations. This may be contained in a Statement of Advice (SOA).
Product Disclosure Statement
If we arrange the issue of an insurance policy to you, we will also provide you with, or pass on to you, a product disclosure statement (PDS), unless you already have an up-to-date PDS from the insurer. The PDS will enable you to make an informed decision about purchasing that product.
From when does this FSG apply?
This FSG applies from 22 August 2025 and remains valid unless a further FSG is issued. A supplementary FSG may be given covering services not included here.

Who is responsible for the financial services provided?
McLardy McShane Partners Pty Ltd is responsible for the financial services provided to you, or through you to your family members, including distribution of this FSG.
What kinds of financial services are you authorised to provide?
Capital Mutual Insurance Brokers is authorised to advise and deal in general insurance products to wholesale and/or retail clients under McLardy McShane Partners Pty Ltd’s AFSL. We will do this as your broker unless told otherwise.
Sometimes we act under a binder or agency on behalf of an insurer. We will tell you if this applies.
Retail Clients
Under the Corporations Act 2001, Retail Clients receive additional protection. Retail Clients include individuals and small businesses purchasing prescribed types of insurance such as motor vehicle, home, travel, consumer credit, etc.
Will I receive tailored advice?
Not always. We may ask you for information about your objectives and financial situation to give advice. If we don’t, advice provided may not be appropriate for your needs.
Contractual liability and your insurance cover
Many business contracts include liability clauses. These may affect insurance cover. Seek legal advice before entering such contracts and inform us if they exist.
What information do you maintain in my file?
McLardy McShane Partners Pty Ltd maintains records of your profile, policies, advice given, and retains documents as required by law. A privacy policy is in place.
How will I pay for services?
Payment is made directly to McLardy McShane Partners Pty Ltd. Insurers charge premiums that include taxes/levies. McLardy McShane receives commissions (0–35%), fees, or both. These are disclosed on your invoice.
How are commissions, fees or benefits calculated?
Commissions are a percentage of the premium. Capital Mutual Insurance Brokers receives 90–95% of McLardy McShane’s commission. Fees may also apply. Referrers may receive 0–50% of commissions. Employees receive salary and possible bonuses.
Do you have any relationships or associations?
McLardy McShane Partners Pty Ltd is a Steadfast Group Limited Network Broker and has access to member services. Steadfast may receive fees from insurers. Details at www.steadfast.com.au.
What should I do if I have a complaint?
- Contact Capital Mutual Insurance Brokers first.
- If unresolved within 5 days, contact McLardy McShane’s Complaints Officer: tracy@mclardymcshane.com.au.
- If still unresolved, Steadfast Customer Advocacy service is available: customeradvocacy@steadfast.com.au.

What arrangements are in place to compensate clients?
McLardy McShane Partners Pty Ltd has professional indemnity insurance that meets section 912B of the Corporations Act requirements. It covers claims including those against former representatives.
